COVID-19 Response

"Stay Home, Stay Healthy" and what it means for Tacoma Soap Refillery

Today, Governor Inslee issued a "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" order which means that all Washingtonians much stay home unless they are pursuing an essential activity. It also means that many non-essential businesses must close.

Tacoma Soap Refillery provides products that are considered essential and at this time we will remain open for business through our online shop and delivery service. The safety of our customers and our family are top priorities and we feel that continuing our business does not present a risk to either. We are a small, family run business and do not yet have outside employees nor do we need to come into direct contact with our customers.

As previously mentioned, our glass jars and delivery bags are washed and sanitized between uses. Our work areas are cleaned and sanitized through out the day and our hands are washed before and after packing and delivering orders. Out of an abundance of caution, one new change we are making is that for the time being we will not be reusing packing materials other than the cloth delivery bags. If your order comes with some packing paper to protect the jars or soap bars, it will be new paper made out of recycled materials that can then be recycled.

Thank you for your support and allowing us to continue to help you on your mission to reduce waste. We hope you will stay healthy and safe.

UPDATE: 20 March 2020

We hope you and your loved ones are well and have what you need to help reduce stress and get through these days of uncertainty.

We feel it's important to address COVID-19 as it relates to our business and our customers. We've been keeping an eye on directives from Governor Inslee and recommendations from state and county health departments. Since we are still able to operate under the latest directives (March 20th) from Governor Inslee, we are still taking orders online and delivering to your door. If a "stay home" or "shelter in place" order is implemented this coming week, we believe that we will be able to continue as an essential business based on the products we provide.

Our operations are a low risk to our customers as our products do not come into regular contact with the general public. We are washing our hands more than ever before we enter our work area and throughout the day. We have been taking extra care in wiping down and sanitizing all our product dispensers and our work areas several times through out the day. We do not have outside employees and our family has been practicing a high level of social distancing. Refillable containers have always been sanitized in between refills and we will also be thoroughly cleaning our delivery bags between orders.

The support you've shown to our small business plus the many others through out the Greater Tacoma Area is greatly appreciated. We definitely feel the love as we all come together to support each other during this really difficult time.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.
