Garbanzo Bean Flour (Organic)
Organic Garbanzo Flour is made from chickpeas (aka garbanzos), and our flour is a great option for those sensitive to gluten, as it is certified Gluten-Free. Use it in cakes, cookies, as a crunchy coating on baked foods, in veggie burgers, as an egg substitute, it's so versatile!
This Organic Garbanzo Bean Flour is made using the Unifine Milling Process. In this process the grain enters a high speed rotor and is instantly shattered into fine flour. Air goes through the rotor with the grain and blows the flour out, thus keeping it cool throughout the process, retaining many nutrients. With this process the natural oils in the grain are kept intact and do not get hot like in regular grain milling and stoneground milling.
Your flour will come in a bag made from 100% recycled paper, fully lined with NatureFlex*- a clear greaseproof film made from wood pulp. These bags are certified for industrial composting only. PLEASE RETURN THEM TO US so they can be properly composted. They will not break down in the landfill and cannot be recycled.
*NatureFlex Is made from natural, renewable wood pulp. It is both biodegradable and compostable. These bags are certified by the Composting Manufacturing Alliance, but please RETURN THEM TO US for composting as they are not accepted in Tacoma or other Pierce County municipal food waste bins. They WILL NOT break down in the landfill ( In fact, no bioplastics labeled biodegradable or compostable will break down in the landfill) We have partnered with Cedar Grove Composting facility where all our certified packaging can be industrially composted.
