Vejibag Produce Bags
Keep produce fresh for up to 2-3 weeks with our un-dyed organic cotton storage bags. These bags are an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic produce bags that suffocate produce when stored in the fridge. Storing vegetables in the drawer without a bag at all works ok if you are able to use them quickly, but as you know, many can get limp and lifeless pretty quick.
We've tried them out on lettuce, kale, carrots, rhubarb, asparagus, green garlic and peppers and have been very happy with the results.
Sizes
Standard (11"x12") - Great for carrots, cucumbers, peppers, baby spinach, heads of lettuce
Large (11" x 17") - This size works well for kale, celery, zucchini, leafy heads of lettuce and large amounts of leafy greens
Extra-Large (14"x17") - The largest bag can fit more than one head of lettuce, lots of kale, collards, beets or a mix and match lots of veggies.

How they work
Just like cut flowers, vegetables need water to stay vibrant. The key to keeping veggies crisp is moisture. When damp, the cloth Vejibag keeps moisture-loving vegetables moist and crisp in a breathable but high humidity environment. Moisture slowly evaporates from the surface of the bag to circulate air and keep the vegetables “breathing.” The slightly moist environment of the bag keeps vegetables crisp far longer.
How to use
Once you become accustomed to the simple process, you'll find it's easy. Don't let your beautiful produce go to waste. Treat your vegetables as living things!
1. Wet and Wring
Wet the bag, then wring it out so that it is just damp
2. Rinse Vegetables
Rinse your vegetables carefully, remove any damaged areas, and then gently shake off any excess water. If you're washing lettuces or greens, there's no need to spin. Let your Vejibag do the work!
3. Store and Dampen as Necessary
Store in the main compartment of your refrigerator or in a slightly opened crisper drawer. When the bag dries out after several days, we find that wetting our hands then touching the bag with wet hands does a good job of redampening.
You can also run the bag, veggies and all briefly under the faucet, but we found that method sometimes wet the bag more than we wanted and you can't wring it out as easily with produce inside.
